Scholarships for Choreographers & Directors of Physical Theatre

International practical course for experienced choreographers and directors with professional stage experience working in various genres, techniques and styles interested to take part in the performance creation at Russian Repertory Theatre and to research the connection between voice and dance, word and physical action.

Several scholarships are available which partially cover the course tuition fee.

danceWEB is looking for participants in the Jardin d’Europe Wild Card offer 2012:
ARTISTIC/ADMINISTRATIVE RESIDENCY IN THE FRAME OF iDANS Festival 06

JARDIN D’EUROPE WILD CARDS is part of the European initiative Jardin d’Europe, developed and organized by a network of ten partner institutions (4Culture/RO, Bimeras Culture Foundation/TR, CCN Montpellier/FR, Cullberg Ballet/SE, danceWEB/AT, Lokomotiva/MK, Southbank Centre/UK, Station/RS, Ultima Vez/BE, Workshop Foundation/HU).

The program aims at fostering the transnational circulation of artistic development and the further education in the field of contemporary dance and choreographic research. It consists of residencies, choreographic researches with established companies as well as scholarships for further education for emerging choreographers and professional dancers.

In the frame of the Jardin d’Europe Wild Cards 2012, danceWEB is looking for a participant in the artistic/administrative residency in the frame of iDANS06 – Istanbul International Contemporary Dance & Performance Festival.

WHEN: September 29 – October 15, 2012 (arrival and departure dates are flexible if needed)
WHERE: Istanbul, Turkey, in the frame of iDANS Festival 06

THE PROGRAM OFFERS
The residency is designed for an artist (one person only) with interest in exchanging ideas about his/her work-in-progress, and willingness to have a hands-on experience in festival organization.
– Travel, accommodation, free meals
– Part-time studio (around 4 hours a day) for the whole duration of the residency, with possibility of inviting local artists/teachers as “external eye” to the working process
– Admission to all performances throughout iDANS 06
– Participation at workshops throughout the festival
– Participation at lectures and symposiums throughout the festival
– Hands on experience on the daily experiences of festival production
– Exchange of ideas and contact with local and international artists and cultural operators
– The participant will be required to be present 90 minutes before and 60 minutes after performances at the venues to help festival operations

WHO CAN APPLY
Only emerging choreographers and professional dancers coming from and/or resident in Austria are eligible to apply!

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
– a current CV (English)
– a letter of motivation between 350-500 words in English, with information on new work to be developed during residency
– good knowledge of English (written and spoken)

The selected participants have to provide a written feedback report after their participation!

The 2012 edition of the ZOOM Festival for contemporary experimental performing arts in Rijeka, Croatia, offers a workshop programme to young professionals from the Western Balkans, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

The festival, founded by Drugo More and held annually since 2010, was born out of a need for new forms of expression in the performing arts in the Adriatic region. In 2012 and 2013, we put the focus on the German speaking performing arts scene, which we regard the most vibrant and influential these days.

The programme includes four workshops that will address topics in the field of the performing arts. The workshop presenters are the art collective LIGNA – Michael Hueners and Torsten Michaelsen (DE), Janez Janša (SLO), Ivan Marušić-Klif (HR) and Igor Ružić (HR). Working language for the first three workshops is English, for the workshop held by Igor Ružić it is Croatian

Who can apply?
Young artists, theatre makers, students and journalists age 20-35 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland

What we cover
We cover economy-class travel expenses from Western Balkan countries to Rijeka, accommodation (shared room in a youth hostel in Rijeka) and access to all performances for the selected participants. The participation in the workshops is free of charge.
Unfortunately, we are not able to cover travel costs for participants from Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Welcome to the Introductory course – March 23, 24, 25 Vienna, Austria

The introductory course in March is opens the door towards the new collaboration project in Russia in autumn 2012 – the six-week period of performance creation in a Russian repertory theatre together with Russian actors and performers from different countries! The full course programme includes the long-distance training, the practical
residential sessions, and the secondment in the Russian repertory theatre, where the international performance will take place.

The programme is designed for existing arts managers, working in various creative industries, seeking further professional development and interested in strengthening their practical knowledge and skills. This course will be especially relevant to those candidates who are motivated to develop a managerial career in performing arts at
international level – personalities with strong personal mission, passion for the arts and a strong sense of purpose.

There are several scholarships available for participation in the introductory course in March in Vienna.
The scholarship amount is 300 EUR and covers part of the participation fee.

The scholarship amount is 300 EUR and covers half of the participation fee.

CROSSBREEDS ist eine Plattform für künstlerische Positionen im Dazwischen. In Zeiten globaler gesellschaftlicher Krisen und Naturkatastrophen, zunehmender Flexibilisierung und Prekarisierung, der Ungewissheit und des Wandels ruft CrossBreeds 2012 auf, aktuelle künstlerische Positionen, Strategien und Praktiken des Über_Leben/s zu
generieren, zu sammeln und zu radikalisieren.
CROSSBREEDS 2012 fokussiert auf „CrossNeeds“ – der Notwendigkeit mit anderen Systemen in Kommunikation zu treten um Fragen zum Potential und zur Relevanz von künstlerischen Erfahrungsfeldern im Allgemeinen und dem Körperwissen im Speziellen zu stellen.
Es werden transdisziplinäre Arbeiten gesucht, die sich mit der Verschränkung von Tanz/Performance und anderen Kunst- und Lebensformen und/oder Arbeitsfeldern, wie Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Realpolitik,…. auseinandersetzen, sowie Fragenstellungen zu
„Über_Leben/s_Kunst“ untersuchen.

Tanz/Performance, (Kurz)Film, Video, Installation, Intervention, Lectures bzw. künstlerische und diskursive Äußerungen, die sich hier nicht zuordnen lassen.

Tanz/Performances können nur von in Österreich ansässigen, (Kurz)Film, Video und Installation auch von internationalen KünstlerInnen berücksichtigt werden.

Ausschreibung: Festival Belluard Bollwerk

Das Festival Belluard Bollwerk International und das Migros-Kulturprozent suchen künstlerische Projekte in Zusammenhang mit RETOX.

Das Festival Belluard Bollwerk International 2012 klingelt zum Aufbruch. Alle sind eingeladen, eine künstlerische Idee zu RETOX einzureichen. Im Gegensatz zu ‚Detox’, Entschlackung oder Reinigung, steht die englische Abkürzung RETOX für die Wiederaufnahme giftiger Substanzen nach einer Phase der Abstinenz. RETOX kann aber auch bedeuten: aufwachen! Umbruch! In einer Gesellschaft, in der Wohlfühlen zur Pflicht und Entspannung zum Geschäftsmodell geworden ist, Grüntee statt Wasser gepredigt und die Wahl der Wellnessangebote Stress auslöst, ist es Zeit für RETOX – Zeit für Impulse, Provokationen, für Erneuerung, Erfrischung und Wiederbelebung – Zeit, den urbanen, gesellschaftlichen und ökonomischen Kontext zu bewegen und das Gespräch über Kunst, Kultur und Politik neu anzustacheln.

Das Festival Belluard Bollwerk International und das Migros-Kulturprozent suchen künstlerische Projekte, die RETOX provozieren, ausprobieren, anbieten, untersuchen; in Form von experimentellen und stimulierenden Inter- ventionen, Aktionen und Installationen: RETOX für die ganze Stadt und seine Bewohner, für Publikum, Kunst und Gesellschaft.
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler und Praktiker aus anderen Bereichen, an Menschen aus Freiburg und dem Rest der Welt, an Einzelpersonen und Gruppen.
Die ausgewählten Projekte werden als Teil des Belluard Festivals 2012 realisiert.
Die Projekte können in einer Spielstätte des Festivals stattfinden, in anderen Freiburger Lokalitäten oder im öffentlichen Raum.
Die Projekte werden von einer professionellen Jury ausgewählt, die sich aus Kunstschaffenden und Fachpersonen anderer Bereiche zusammensetzt.
Die ausgewählten Projekte werden im Rahmen eines Aufenthaltes in Freiburg und in Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Fachleuten weiterentwickelt.

Regeln
– Jedes Projekt soll auf max. 3 Seiten Din A4 präsentiert werden (inkl. Pläne, Bilder, Zeichnungen, o.ä.). Zusätzlich 1 Seite Din A4 mit Budgetvorschlag und den persönlichen Koordinaten (Name, Adresse, Email, Telefonnummer).
– Zusendungen müssen in Englisch, Deutsch oder Französisch verfasst werden (bei deutschen und französischen Eingaben muss eine englische Zusammenfassung von 1000 Zeichen beiliegen).
– Einsendeschluss ist Montag, 17. Oktober 2011. Zusendungen per Post bitte an: Belluard Bollwerk International / Contest 2012 / Postfach 214 / 1701 Freiburg / Schweiz (es gilt der Poststempel). Emails bitte an: info@belluard.ch mit Betreff „CONTEST 2012“ (spätestens bis 00:00 Uhr Schweizer Zeit).
– Die Ergebnisse werden spätestens Mitte Dezember 2011 bekannt gegeben.
– Die Jury behält sich das Recht vor, ihre Entscheidung nicht zu kommentieren.
– Die eingereichten Unterlagen werden nicht zurückgeschickt.
– Für jedes ausgewählte Projekt, steht ein Künstlerbudget von min. 2500 CHF zur Verfügung plus ein Produktionsbudget für die Realisierung und Durchführung im Rahmen des Belluard Festivals 2012.
Teilnehmer müssen verfügbar sein für
– Residenz und Mentoring in Freiburg im Februar 2012 (genaue Daten sind noch zu bestätigen).
– Eine Produktionsphase in Freiburg im Juni 2012.
