Raw Matters – An Unpolished Performance Evening is a monthly event at Schikaneder Kino in Vienna offering a space and the opportunity for risk-taking and experimentation in the field of performing arts.
Perfection is not a necessity.
Sometimes the right moment is when you are not ready. Urgency is the necessity.
Yes! to diversity in performance. Every work is worth to be shown. We are not here to judge.
We want to be inspired by the artist’s experiments to experiment ourselves. Confronting our fears of failing offers us the possibility to grow as humans and artists.
Nothing is irrelevant. Little is also important. We do not want to stagnate.
For the upcoming season January to June 2014 we are looking for 3 – 4 contributions from the fields of dance, performance and video (max. length 15 minutes, exceptions might be possible)
Experiments, works in progress and first try-outs will be given priority over finished works.
The application deadline for April and May is 19. March 2014!
Please, send a WORD Document, including a short description, infos about the artists and contact details and the approximate duration to office@rawmatters.at. Put your preferred performance date in the subject line, without that your application might not be considered!
