Inspired by Shaun Tan’s book ”The Red Tree”, the piece deals with a healing process: the slow and persistent transformation, at a snail’s pace, as well as the shift of perspective from microcosm to macrocosm and the need to conserve a situation, to stop or postpone the process of change. By means of movement, music, text, light, objects and live projection atmospheres emerge, that are influenced and formed by inexplicable emotions.
The performance group Wildlaks was founded by Austrian choreographer Annika Luschin and Norwegian composer Lars Skoglund. The relation between music and dance plays a central role in their work. ”The Red Leaf” is an international production between Norway and Austria and it is supported by dreizurdritten figurentheater Vienna, Statens kunstnerstipend, TONO and ACTS practices/unwrap.
